The Austin Pastel Society kicks off its 2010-2011 Program year with this ever-popular event, the Revolving Paint-Around. Watch five of your fellow members tackle a painting in rotation begun by another member; then, when the masterpieces are completed, bid at a silent auction on the piece of your choice. Support this fun and worthy event with your attendance and your wallet!
We're going on a field trip to the Blanton! We will have a guided tour of the Turner to Monet exhibit, with 40 beautiful oil paintings of some of the world's best Impressionist painters, including Turner, Degas, Manet, Rousseau, Delacroix, and Monet! Cost for this program is $9 per person to cover the tour. We will gather for a brief business meeting and then meet our docent promptly at 3:30 PM. Plan to have dinner afterward at the Blanton Museum cafe or at one of Austin's great downtown restaurants.
The Blanton is handicapped-friendly, and there is ample parking in the area.
Please RSVP to Sue Wiley, as we need at least 10 people to have a docented tour.
No meeting this month, as our Holiday Party will take place in two weeks. Instead, use the time to paint something to share for the Show-and-Tell at the Holiday Party. Happy Thanksgiving!
This is our annual Holiday Party, gift exchange, and Show-and-Tell. Bring something yummy-tasting to share if you like! More info to come.
