The Austin Pastel Society is required to hold one General Meeting per year. That meeting will be held on Sunday, March 22 and will also incorporate a Paint Along into the event. The meeting will begin with a business report followed by Maribel Mast and the Challenge Painting: Painting the Invisible (refer back to February issue of "Pastelist" for details). Just a small quick turnaround painting that you bring from home for a show and tell. Then we will move to our Paint Along with Lead Artist Carolyn Kilday. Carolyn is no stranger to APS. She's been a long-time member and contributor to the pastel art community in Central Texas for decades. Our time together painting will be a great learning environment, especially for those new to pastel. You will be painting alongside some seasoned artists that are more than eager to help.
How this works:
- Bring your easel and something to paint on.
- Bring your pastels and a drop cloth. Think plein air efficiency.
- Subject matter will be a surprise. You will receive a photocopy of the subject matter when you arrive.
- And bring your smile. That's the most essential item.
We will set up an APS Merchandise table and refreshments. The Member Library is going to be running a liquidation sale. All the VHF tapes and DVDs are on sale for $20.00 each. Huge bargain!
Note: We aren't set up to take credit, so please bring cash or check.
If you are one of those folks that love to share munchies, bring them too. This group loves to eat! Signe is bringing ice, water and coffee.
Meeting location: Precision Camera & Video
Address: 2428 W. Anderson Lane, Austin, TX 78757
